He has extensive experience as a Field Industrial Hygienist and Industrial Hygiene Manager in the chemical industry. Dr. Wagner was awarded the academic rank of Professor Emeritus on May 8, 2008 by Salisbury University, a member institution of the University System of Maryland. For the past ten years he has been a faculty member of an accredited Environmental Health Science Program, Department of Biological Sciences.
